  • How to Determine if Additional Solar Panel Can Be Added to Solar Controller
  • Hey Ken, what it comes down to is what the controller is rated for and whether or not adding an additional solar panel can increase the output of it. The Morningstar Duo charge controller SSD-25 that you have is rated for 25 amps which is quite a bit more than 190 watts so you could easily add an additional panel like the 190 watt # GP47MR to what you have now and the controller would be able to take full use of the additional power generated by the second panel.

  • How To Wire In Solar Panel Systems And A Go Power IC2000 Inverter Charger
  • Hi Robert, Solar panel systems are all going to be ran independently to the battery bank and wouldn't need to tie into the wiring for your Go Power IC2000 Inverter Charger # 34280055. Your solar panels will run to the Go Power MPPT Solar Charge Controller # GP54FR and from there directly to the batteries. Both the solar charge controller and the IC2000 can read the battery charge level and alter the charge that they send to the battery so there won't be an issue wiring them separately.

  • Is It Safe To Connect a 30Amp Solar Controller To the 10Amp Furrion Charge Port?
  • The Furrion Solar Port Inlet # FSPINS-BS is only rated for 10 amps of maximum input so if you somehow connected your Go Power to it this would most likely burn up the wiring since the controller is putting out up to 30 amps of 12 volt power. This connector was only designed to be used with a smaller portable panel typically a 100watts.

  • Can You Connect 4 Go Power 190 Watt Solar Panels to One Roof
  • The Go Power 190 Watt Solar Panels part # 34282182 measure 59-1/8" long x 26-5/16" wide x 1-1/2" deep. In order to see how many you can fit, simply take the measurements above and compare them to the space you have available. The panel are rated for 9.57 amps so you'll need to make sure your solar controller is capable of handing the total combined amp rating of the panels. For example, if you have four total panels you'd need a solar controller which can handle at least 38 amps like the...

  • Can a Curt Echo Trailer Brake Controller Be Powered By The Trailer Battery?
  • On a wireless brake controller like the Curt Echo # C51180 you found it needs the power coming from the vehicle to power it. So you would at least need a Charge Line # RM-156-75 with an Adapter # 37185 to make the controller function. Also your state laws are likely going to specify you have to have power coming from the vehicle to maintain the charge on the battery for your trailer as it is likely also the breakaway battery.

  • Solar Power and Inverter Options with 2021 Jayco Eagle HT Fifth Wheel
  • For RV application I prefer the Go Power brand of products. If your camper is pre-wired from Jayco I believe they are using the same brand. There is typically two options available in pre-wired from the factory for "solar ready" either using a portable solar connector on the side of the RV or they have installed a Go Power cable entry plate on the roof. You will need to first determine the energy demands being placed on your batteries. If you will only be running the outdoor mini fridge...

  • Can Additional Panels Be Added Into A Go Power Solar Panel System
  • Hi Robert, The amount of panels you can have is going to depend on their output and the maximum input capacity of the solar controller. For example, the Go Power MPPT Solar Charge Controller # GP54FR you were looking at has a maximum input of 1040W @ 12V; 2080W @ 24V; 3120W @ 36V; and 4160W @ 48V. The Go Power 40 amp MPPT Solar Controller you currently have has a maximum input of 600W @ 12V or 1200W @24V. Go Power doesn't currently offer panels at 300 watts so you likely have a 100...

  • How Much Solar Power is Needed for Refrigerator in 2020 Brookstone 310RL
  • It is difficult to say without more information. It is really going to depend on the power used by the fridge and the size of your batteries. For example, a fridge like the Everchill # 324-000119 uses 11-amp hours of power, so it's going to consume 264 amp hours of power over the course of a day. A residential fridge typically takes a large system like the Go Power Solar AE-6 All Electric System with 2 MPPT Solar Controllers - 1,140 Watt Solar Panels # 342-75011. Also, a minimum of 600...

  • What is Needed To Switch To Lithium Batteries and a 2,000W Inverter On The Go Power Weekender Kit?
  • The Go Power Lithium RV Battery # 34282738 has a 100-amp hour capacity. You will need to compare this to the current flooded batteries you have installed to determine what increase in capacity will be. Whatever the increase in amp hours is will be the amount of capacity you are increasing. When you do switch to lithium batteries you will only need to change the charge profile on the Go Power PWM Solar Charge Controller that came with the Kit. If you choose to move to the 2,000 Watt...

  • Recommended Solar Panel to Charge a Breakaway Battery
  • Yes, there is! You can use the 2.5-Watt Solar Battery Charger # PTW2997 you were looking at. However, this has alligator clamps so it will be a bit more difficult. A better option would be to install the Bright Way Solar Battery Charger item # BRW54FR due to it having terminal rings. The connections won't come disconnected while you are using your trailer. Your breakaway battery just needs to be a 12-volt battery with at least 5 amp-hours.

  • Motorhome Deep Cycle Battery and Solar Panel Charging Connections in Parallel for 12 Volts
  • Wiring batteries in parallel allows you to get additional amperage like you are wanting without changing the voltage. So you do need to wire you new "battery bank" in parallel so that they output voltage is 12 volts and matches your motorhome. I attached a picture that shows difference between wiring batteries in parallel and in series. You do basically just need two jumper wires with a heavier gauge like 00 to make the connections. If your solar charger setup just has two wires to run...
